Kung Fu Kenny with a Killer Cut! Social commentary, a raw introspective look at his struggles with fame and the dopest beat (for the first 2 minutes at least). Throw Don Cheadle into the video and the whole "Kung Fu Kenny" joke comes full circle. This man is so self-aware and talented. And I thought he could only go down from his last album. Top three track on an early contender for album of the year.

Sampling Giraldo is a coup for Kendrick who is flippantly responding to the neo-cons who are quick to make judgement and yet not address the issues that can create the environment for hip hop to reflect the sentiments of the streets. Kendrick comes back with DAMN, an album that continues to ask the hard questions with thoughtful lyrics and solid beats.

The first 2/3rds of this song puts Kendrick in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but unfortunately the last 1/3rd doesn't follow the same path. An amazing composition to say the least, but not quite the best Kendrick I've heard. And not even this year - Kendrick's verse on 'Conrad Toyko' (ATCQ) destroys this track on almost every level.
