His talents are undeniable. He's like the Roger Federer of hip-hop, in that the effort is there on everything that he does. Win or lose. Hit or miss. The production is so minimalist, to emphasize the lyrics for sure, but there's a lack of cohesion that is noticeable.


Honest Em offers a narrative of his journey since "mom's spaghetti." More spoken word than rapping over a beat. Bey's input is thrown on top and does not have much place.
